The Palm Jumeirah Gateway is strategically located at the entrance to the prestigious Palm Jumeirah development. The Gateway comprises a 14 storey podium and houses the Gateway Station – a terminus station with workshops for the monorail which runs the length of the trunk of The Palm to the Atlantis resort at the tip of the palm. The podium also houses a multi-storey car park on 12 floors for 5000 spaces – the largest of its kind in the region – together with luxury accommodation, food and retail outlets. Above the podium will be three towers rising another 35 to 44 floors: one tower will house luxury residential apartments and the other two will be office space. A Delmatic system controls lighting throughout the front of house and back of house areas of the Gateway building providing flexible and energy-efficient control of lighting with presence detection and daylight-linking. The flexibility of the system enables dynamic parking zones to be created to suit usage according to shopping periods and special events, and the complete lighting network is managed and monitored via graphical software from a head-end PC.
