Middlesex University has more than 25,000 students spread across campuses in north London and Dubai. Hendon is the University’s largest campus and the award-winning Quadrangle building represents the striking focal point at the entrance to the campus. The Delmatic computer addressable switching and Dali dimming system provides flexible and energy-efficient control of lighting using multisensors throughout the complex to relate lighting to occupation and the extent of daylight. The system also provides the ability to programme differing lighting levels for security, maintenance, cleaning and normal occupancy modes. Lighting within the reception, library and lecture theatres is controlled via scene-setting control panels which enable lighting scenes to be activated and global lighting levels to be raised and lowered to suit the function of the space. The system integrates with emergency lighting battery packs to provide automated central testing and monitoring of emergency lighting.
