Delmatic are supplying the lighting management system for the new 75,000 sq.m headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council in Abu Dhabi.
The Delmatic system provides fully addressable management and monitoring of lighting throughout the two towers and uses plug-in Dali dimming modules throughout the site which enable rapid installation and avoid the need to address Dali ballasts after installation.
The client desired to set new standards of environmental responsibility, and a key feature of the design is the façade’s solar shading screens (a modern interpretation of the traditional Arabic ‘Mashrabiya’ shading) which open and close in response to the sun’s path. The Delmatic system extends energy savings yet further by relating lighting to occupation and daylight.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Company is a sister company to the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority whose headquarters were also equipped with a Delmatic Dali system in 2007. A Delmatic system was selected for the ADIA headquarters based upon good experience over a period of twenty-five years of a Delmatic system installed in their original Abu Dhabi headquarters during the early 1980s.
